The dark days of winter see the quieter part of the outdoor events industry, however it does give us time to get the equipment ready for the next year. Commentary units are serviced, and equipment is repaired.
One of the first outings for amps and speakers is the popular West of Yore Point to Point meeting, which requires P.A. systems, two way radios, and double deck commentary box. This year, there were additions in the form of additional lorry park speakers located some distance from the main public address system. As this was just about impossible to do with cables, we employed our radio link system, which worked faultlessly. The main system was covered by our Atlas Sound CJ-46 speakers, with the lorry park utilising Toa and Grampian horns, all fed from powerful Bosch amplifiers. Motorola two-way radios did as good a job as ever.
Good racing was had, and the weather was on our side for most of the day.
